Welcome to
Coolibah Psychology
Established in 2025 by registered psychologist Dee Finato, Coolibah Psychology is a private practice based in Mackay, North Queensland. Dee has been practicing in Mackay for 10 years, working across the lifespan in areas including Disability, Hospital and Health Care, Adult and Child/Youth teams within Community Mental Health, and for the last 5 years in private practice. With a focus on providing high quality, evidence-based psychological support in a warm, safe and therapeutic environment, Dee works primarily with adult clients to support emotional wellbeing, growth, and resilience. Drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches, Dee’s practice is grounded in the values of authenticity, respect and connection.


Our Services
Your treatment is a collaborative process with Coolibah Psychology ensuring a safe, secure, professional and therapeutic space to explore and address your therapeutic goals/needs. A range of therapeutic interventions are used depending on the issue(s), concern(s) that are having an impact on your health and wellbeing. Our initial session will generally involve getting to know you and explore your goals/expectations from therapy. Sessions are generally 50-60 minutes however an initial session may take a little longer and extra time is allocated for this if required.

We aim to make accessing support as straightforward and affordable as possible. Here’s a simple overview of our referrals, fees, and rebates.
Referrals:

Fees

Individual sessions are $225.
Rebates
-
Medicare rebates of $98.95 are available with a valid GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Rebates are limited to 10 sessions per calendar year (6 sessions initially, then 4 more after a GP review).
